Saudi Airlines is the flag carrier airline of Saudi Arabia and is based in Jeddah. It uses the name ‘Saudia’ and operates domestic and international flights to over 120 destinations in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, North America and Europe.

Saudi Arabian Airlines’ history begins in 14 February 1945 when the U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt gifted a single twin-engine DC-3 (Dakota) HZ-AAX to King Abdul Aziz. The DC-3 was used on routes between Riyadh, Jeddah and Dhahran and carried both passengers as well as cargo. Within a month later, two more DC-3 were purchased by Saudi Arabia.

In the year 1946, Saudi Airlines was set up as an operating agency of the Ministry of Defense. The first airport and the operating base of the airline was situated at Kandara, which now comes under the downtown area of Jeddah.

Egypt Air and Lufthansa extend their codeshare cooperation



Egypt Air the flag carrier of Egypt has announced the expansion of its code sharing agreement with Germany's Lufthansa, Europe's largest airline.
The pilot Ahmed Adel, Chairman of the Holding Company for Egypt Air, announced this.
The company aims to provide a wide network of passengers to reach the most demanding destinations, especially in Europe, and under the expansion of the current agreement with Lufthansa, passengers can now travel to both Hamburg and Cologne in Germany, as well as the cities of Nice in France and Warsaw in Poland.
On the other hand, Heiko Hedoch, Head of Partnerships and Cooperation at Lufthansa German Group in Frankfurt, said that we are able to provide flights to the passengers of our partner Egypt Air to more destinations in Germany. At the same time, Lufthansa passengers can benefit from Egypt air flights to Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh.

Pegasus Airlines announces Manchester-Istanbul route




Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines is going to launch flights from Manchester-Istanbul starting from next July.
Flights between Manchester and Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen airports will provide many travel options for travellers.
Pegasus flights from Istanbul include Bahrain, Beirut and Sharjah. The route will also provide connectivity with domestic flights across Turkey.
Pegasus chief executive, Guliz Ozturk, said: “[The] UK is among our key markets in Europe and we’re confident these new flights will be warmly welcomed by our future guests in northern England."
Then he added, “We are delighted to extend our operations to an additional key region of the country, giving our UK guests more choices and flexibility when planning their trips.
